Tenacity. Is it only for sports?
It's playoff time for the Western Major Baseball League. Round 1. Game 4. The Lethbridge Bulls are up 2-1 in the series against the Okotoks Dawgs. It’s do or die for the Dawgs team. They’re on home turf. The crowd is behind them. Their families are watching on TV. They want it. They can taste the victory. They know how to win this game. They’ve done it before. It’s time to “Get’er’done”. The game was intense. A back and forth battle of wills. It’s clear that both of these teams came to win. But who showed more tenancity, more desire, more raw passion for the win last night? The Dawgs came from behind in the game, showing their determination and they won, 4-2. On to Game 5 they go. Well done boys. You worked hard out there, you stuck together, and you proved you’re not ready to walk away just yet. So what does it take to have that kind of tenacity? 1. Focus. Keeping your eye on the target for what you really want.
2. Confidence. Knowing you have the ability to succeed.
3. Alignment. Surrounding yourself with only those that will support you.
4. Desire. Working towards a goal that you truly resonate with.
5. Passion. Giving all your energies to what you love to do and what comes easy to you. Is it really that simple? Can the tenacity that an athlete has be translated into your work? Your career? Your life? Of course it can be that simple. Do what you love. Love what you do. Once you figure that out, there’s only one score that you can achieve. WIN-WIN .
